Auchterarder Hills, Perthshire

Perthshire is known as Big tree Country and is a fantastic location to take in all kinds of stunnig autumn scenes. A view from the east across to the hill of Auchterarder wil have you absorbed for hours. For a nearby walk see Oak Trail.

Loch Fleet, Sutherland

Sutherland, in the far north of Scotland, is beautiful at any time of year but as this photograph shows in autumn it takes on a surreal look. The landscape is seen from Loch Fleet over Alders Nature Reserve and towards the mountain of Creag am Amalaidh.

Glencoe, Highlands

Almost everywhere that you look as you drive or walk through the magnificent landscpae of Glencoe you’l be wowed by the views. In autumn, a mixed hue of golds, oranges and yellows adds brilliance to the landscape. This scene is just past the village of Tyndrum towards the Munro of Beinn Dorain. Aberfoyle, Stirlingshire

The tranquil town of Aberfoyle is located amid Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. A drive over the famous Duke’s Pass or a walk in the forest will reveal many splendid autumn views.

The Quiraing, Isle of Skye

A strange-looking geological feature, the Quiraing is in fact a landslip and forms part of the Trotternish mountain ridge on Skye. It can feel like a otherwordly place and on a sunny autumnal day the landscape shines in many vibrant colours.

Scott’s View, Scottish Borders

Made famous by the Scottish writer, Sir Walter Scott, the Scott’s viewpoint, near the market town of Melrose, is the ideal place to soak up the autumnal landscape of the Borders.
